5 ways to beat procrastination -
· Bit by Bit, Win the Fight - Yesterday when I had a huge list of doing a number of tasks I was frustrated and was procrastinating it on tomorrow again but then realized, these tasks have aggregated because I was procrastinating it for so long. So, I decided to start them today instead of putting them on tomorrow. But to break them altogether was a huge task. So, I decided to Choose DIVIDE AND RULE POLICY. To which I broke down the tasks into small category and decided to achieve them one by one. This policy helped me a lot as I was already way far productive than what I thought of. To achieve this try a short activity before starting a task, break it down into small step and try achieving them one by one.
· Avoid Getting Distracted - In today’s era it is very easy to get distracted. You only need one notification and that pop-up sound to distract you from your work. But this is one of the reason that makes you procrastinate your work more often. Not only notifications but there are number of reasons that will distract you from working like, that urge to finish episodes of your favorite series or that desire to attend a party. For this, all you have to do is try to minimize all the distraction by keeping away the gadgets like your cell phone a little far away from your work environment.
· Remain Committed - Having commitment is important in your personal as well work life relationship because this drive consistency, build trust, help achieve goals thus it become important to be committed towards your work. For this after breaking task into small steps set specific deadlines within which you have to achieve them this helps you perform your task on time.
· Act Now Strategy - Try this short but effective strategy to complete small task that are too short but important, which are often ignored and delayed by us continuously. The strategy is, if any task like responding an email, making a phone call takes less than 2 minutes of your day do them immediately instead of pilling them up for later. Analyse your to do list or if you don’t have one create it and include all those small tasks so they can be done on time.
· Reward Yourself - No matter how much we grow up the little treats in life will always bring us joy and at same point motivates you to do better after performing task reward yourself with sometime small or sometimes big treat. For this add small treats like having your favorite dish or anything you willing to buy Infront of task in your list and stick this Infront of your working space so whenever you see it, you’ll get motivated.
It’s impossible to break a huge mountain, but quite easy and possible to chip away smaller rock therefore instead of pilling up task by procrastinating and letting things done on time becomes important.
